Digital Fundraising Manager
Alvin began his career in field marketing within the telecommunications industry, where he implemented various marketing strategies and initiatives across over 160 telecommunications stores in Victoria. After a while he decided that he wanted a change of scene, with something that better aligned with his passions. He then started working at RSPCA Victoria within the communications team. He worked on a broad range of communications projects and campaigns with a particular focus on digital marketing. As well as working on major campaigns such as The Million Paws Walk and Cupcake Day, Alvin quickly became renowned for his humorous weekly animal adoption posts which saw the highest engagement rates for posts and spiked an increase in the follower base.
Alvin then moved into the tertiary sector, working at both Monash University and then RMIT University. Working on major domestic and international campaigns, he honed his digital, content and analytics skills further by managing various digital campaigns and web projects. He also worked on major marketing and recruitment events such as Open Day and O-week.
With a natural inclination towards digital marketing, Alvin then started working at YSAS (Youth Support + Advocacy Service) in the role of Digital Marketing Manager. There, he was in charge of multiple websites, digital strategy and the digital component of YSAS’s largest fundraising campaign and one of the longest standing peer-to-peer fundraising events in Australia, febfast. With a strong focus on creativity and conversion analytics, Alvin helped facilitate the success of the febfast 2017 digital campaign, raising over half a million dollars for disadvantaged youth across Australia.
Overall, Alvin just wants to use his skills to make the world a little nicer, he hates being corny, but can’t help it. He also believes if you can’t Google it, it doesn’t exist.
